🏈 Everything Madden Ultimate Team

MUT is off to a great start for Madden 24 thanks to improved gameplay and limited AP for abilities. Offense and defense get 6AP each to start the year and most abilities that are worth using cost 2-3AP. With less abilities active the game feels more balanced and it’s helped the mode be more focused on game strategy.

Eagles ‘Flying High’ in Madden NFL ‘24

The Philadelphia Eagles roster is loaded with talent and in Madden NFL ‘24 there is no disparity with the team’s roster overall. Following a trip to the Super Bowl in February this year, the Eagles land at a 94 overall rating atop the rest of the NFL in this year’s Madden. Not only are the Eagles filled with talent across both sides of the ball, but at each position there is plenty of depth with serviceable players with no room for weakness.

Three players have begun the season as a Superstar X-Factor. Darius Slay, who has been a reliable lockdown corner throughout his career, has the second highest overall on the team (92). The other two Superstar X-Factor’s are superstar friends in real life: Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown. Hurts (88) and Brown (91) should be one of the best connections in Madden as they have proven to be in the NFL already.

Fletcher Cox’s Last Chance at being a Superstar

Fletcher Cox, who was once very dominant on the defensive line, is in the backend of his career and has been on a slow decline in production and time on the field. Cox started at his lowest rating of 73 as a rookie and has reached his highest rating of 96 twice in his career—Cox has reached a 90+ rating 7 out of the 12 years he has been in Madden. With defensive tackles Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter taken in back-to-back first rounds in the NFL draft and ready to take over, this may be the last year Cox will be listed with ‘Superstar’ development. Defensive linemen aren’t typically ‘users’ that players control in Madden, but in Franchise mode Cox has always provided steady contributions towards the Eagles’ success.

All-’Elusive Back’ Running Back Room Creates Easy Mismatches

Madden has made it easy for everyone running the ball with the Eagles team this year–-ALL running backs on the roster carry the ‘Elusive Backs’ tag.

Listed below are the four running backs on the Eagles roster with ther overall rating, speed rating and agility rating:

D’Andre Swift - 81 overall, 91 speed, 90 agility

Rashaad Penny - 79 overall, 91 speed, 86 agility

Kenneth Gainwell - 76 overall, 90 speed, 86 agility

Boston Scott - 74 overall, 89 speed, 90 agility

The running back room averages out to a 90.25 speed rating and 88 agility, marking themselves as one of the most athletic groups in all of Madden. The additions of Swift and Penny during the offseason gave a boost to the team after losing Miles Sanders in free agency. Sanders is listed at an 88 overall (perhaps slightly boosted thanks to Eagles stellar offensive performance last year) but clocks in at a 91 speed rating and 88 agility rating, not far from the Eagles running back room average. Howie Roseman did well in the offseason to replace Sanders’ departure and as such the Eagles team in Madden now has two shifty backs for players to utilize.

Should you get your hands on playing with the top rated Philadelphia Eagles team, you will not be disappointed. They’re the best team in Madden for a reason.

Official EA Madden Tournaments

EA’s Madden Championship Series is back and is off to an entertaining start. The first tournament of the year will conclude on Wednesday and one player will take home $40,000 and the Ultimate Kickoff championship belt. The games will be live streamed on Madden’s official Twitch and YouTube. Tune in on Tuesday and Wednesday (Sept 5th & 6th) starting at 6:30pm eastern.

NFL Season Predictions + Week 1 Best Bets

Game 1: Chiefs vs Lions Thursday Night: Do we like the Chiefs to win? No, we love them to win.

Key Stat: Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is 9-1 in Week 1 since taking over in Kansas City. The Chiefs scored 44 in the opening week win over the Arizona Cardinals in 2022, and have scored at least 33 points in every opener since 2017.

So do we take a the moneyline at -255? Meaning we would need to risk $255 to win $100. Yes and no? We’re going to take it but it’s going to be a parlay.

Key Term: A parlay bet is when you take 2 or more bets and combine them to increase your potential payout. (Every bet in the “parlay” needs to win in order to win the parlay. You don’t win anything if one bet wins and the other one loses). Parlays are more risky and the odds of you winning go down significantly when placing these types of bets.

Game 2 Panthers vs Falcons: Carolina is opening the season in Atlanta with the rookie quarterback Bryce Young. I don’t know about you but I don’t expect a rookie QB to win on the road in week 1.

Key Info: The last time a rookie QB won in week 1 was David Carr in 2002. I’d also expect the Panthers offense to struggle this season. Just look at their key players. The offense features 33 year old receiver Adam Thielen, former Eagles RB Miles Sanders and veteran tight end Hayden Hurst.

So do we take the Falcons moneyline at -190? Yes but in our parlay with the Chiefs moneyline (-255)
